Career Coaching

Although I have a love-hate relationship with the term "coach," my one-on-one coaching is about creating real, tangible shifts in an artist’s career trajectory. It’s don't only offer strategic advice— I combine insights with practical tools that propel long-term career growth.

During our first session, I ask plenty of questions to get to the heart of your long-term and near-term goals—whether that’s performing, choreographing, or recalibrating your financial or personal roadmap. Together, we’ll build a career plan with actionable quarterly targets, and between sessions, I’ll dive into feedback, fine-tune your materials, and help adjust your strategy as needed.

Client Spotlight — Leah Zeiger

After taking JUMPSTART/LA, Leah Zeiger hired me to help her self-produce her first full-length show. We met monthly to map out budgets, shape her fundraising strategy, refine her marketing efforts, and carve out a clear path for future opportunities. Our work together earned her a thoughtful review in the LA Dance Chronicle, an invitation to present at the Odyssey Festival, and a co-produced split bill at Highways Performance Space. We then shifted our focus to her overarching career goals, including the relaunch of The Sunflower Project, ensuring it aligned with her long-term vision and creative growth.

“Working with Emily is a true gift. Since we began working together, I have grown more confident in the administrative side of being a dance artist and more clear on my mission. This is largely to do with Emily’s innate ability to listen and reframe my thoughts, images and ideas into writing and language that reflects the work I am doing. She makes me want to dig deeper into my “why” and the process of doing so positively impacts the work I create in the studio.

I always look forward to my meetings with Emily and know that I will walk away with actionable items that make my journey as an artist less isolated, scary and daunting. Emily is someone who loves and supports her people and that is felt through her communication, time, energy, kindness, honesty, thoughtfulness, attentiveness, thoroughness and pure passion to elevate the dance industry.”
